NEW MILFORD — Healing The Children Northeast, the nonprofit children’s medical services organization, is closing its thrift shop just weeks after its executive director resigned.

But despite such changes, officials said, there is no let-up in the agency’s effort to provide quality medical care to children in distant parts of the globe.

“We’re doing good, evolving, and made a thoroughly honest appraisal of the best use of our volunteers’ time for fundraising efforts,” said Frank Weller, a member of the organization’s board of directors. “If we are going to continue to reach out on the international level, of sending out seven to eight teams of 30 to 40 nurses and doctors, we have to approach fundraising on a different level.
