WILTON — Convenience and privacy combine to create the perfect location and setting for the beige shingle and stone custom colonial house at 230 Nod Hill Road, which is a designated scenic road.
The 7,356-square-foot house is nestled into a seemingly very remote and forested area in the rolling hills of north Wilton near Streets Pond, a local reservoir. In truth, it is only about three miles from Wilton Center and the train station to the south and another three miles from the Georgetown shopping district to the north. The house sits on a 2.56-acre level and sloping beautifully landscaped property. It was thoughtfully designed and built in 2005. Its floor plan on three finished levels provides a great flow and versatility of use.
The design and construction gave this house a wealth of amenities inside and out, making it ideal for day-to-day living and entertaining, either casually or on a grand scale.
Outside, it features a gunite heated in-ground infinity swimming pool and water fall, bluestone patios, an outdoor kitchen, and an outdoor fireplace. Inside, the 12-room house has a 500-bottle wine cellar, full bar, surround sound audio system in every room, seven fireplaces, and a gym. It also has built-in iPads on the walls of several rooms for smart home technology to control lights and music. There are multiple docking stations throughout the house.
The house is set well-back from the road, which, coupled with the professional landscaping and natural setting of tall trees, augments the privacy. The paving stone circular driveway opens into a spacious forecourt. The door at the covered and columned front entrance is framed by sidelights and opens into the two-story foyer. To the right is the formal living room, which has a marble fireplace and a hardwood floor with a darker inlaid wood border. To the left is the formal dining room, which has picture frame molding on the lower walls.
On the first floor there is a knotty pine paneled office with a limestone fireplace, coffered ceiling, bay window, and built-in bookshelves and cabinetry. The sizable great room also has a coffered ceiling, a floor-to-ceiling fieldstone fireplace, a set of French doors to a large wood deck that runs the length of the back of the house, and another set of French doors to a good-sized sunroom. It also has French doors to the deck.

The current owners are the ones who had the house custom built and they installed the infinity or “vanishing edge” pool with the waterfall that fills the yard with a soothing sound throughout the summer. There are hidden outdoor speakers for music.
They also set up lighting in the remodeled foyer powder room to go on automatically as someone enters that room. The entire interior of the house was painted and updated in 2014 and 2015. The exterior of the house was painted in 2014. An old outhouse was transformed into a gardening shed.
