Vincent D'Amore's slapshot in overtime gives Fairfield Prep a 2-1 victory over Darien High School in the Division I hockey championship Saturday afternoon in New Haven, CT.

Darien jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first period on a goal by Robert Juterbock. Mike Colon was outstanding in goal for the Blue Wave as he kept Prep off the board for the first two periods.

With just over five mintues to go in the third period, the Jesuits finally got on the board as Dean Lockery netted the equalizer. Fairfield Prep outshot Darien 36-10 in regulation.

The game went to sudden death where D'Amore won it for Prep as he rifled one past Colon to give Prep the win and state championship.

It was Fairfield Prep's first win over Darien in three meetings this season.
