We’ll have some beautiful weather this weekend with cool temperatures, mostly sunny skies with no rain in the forecast.

Temperatures will be in the low 70s on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday night will be cool with temperatures in the low 50s along the Long Island Sound shoreline and into the 40s in areas like Danbury, New Milford and Kent.

It’s the perfect forecast for outdoor events like the Norwalk Oyster Festival and the CT United Ride 9/11 tribute this weekend.

The National Weather Service says, “a cold front will approach from the northwest today and move across late this afternoon into this evening. Thereafter, Canadian high pressure builds into the local region through early next week.

“Low pressure and a warm front will slowly approach from the south the middle of next week.”

That system could pick up some remnants from Hurricane Irma, bringing some rain to Connecticut on Wednesday and Thursday.

At this point, however, the NWS is forecasting a “low chance to slight chance” of precipitation into Thursday.

That, of course, depends what track Irma takes over the next few days.

Stay tuned.
