I’m an upstate New York native, who has worked as a newspaper reporter for over eight years. I got my start at The Recorder in Greenfield, Massachusetts, covering education, health and human services. After four years, I went to the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, where I traveled to Haiti to report on illegal detentions in the women’s prison. I also worked at Newsday on Long Island for three years, where I covered the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings and the Boston Marathon bombings. At The News-Times, I cover health, human services and education and recently had a five-part narrative series about a Connecticut doctor’s experience in Africa published in the Hearst Connecticut daily newspapers.
