Darien Chamber of Commerce has announced upcoming ribbon cuttings.
At 6 p.m. on Oct. 6, a new department of intimate moments at Helen Ainson, will open at 1078 Post Road. A reception will follow.
At noon on Oct. 8, Spa Grace, new beauty spa next to Seasons Too will open. Light refreshments will be served.
Connecticut's two Association of Fundraising Professionals chapters will hold their annual all-day conference on Thursday, Nov. 17 at the CoCo Key Hotel and Convention Center in Waterbury.

Connecticut Women's Summit
The Connecticut Women's Alliance, an organization that seeks to support the advancement of women and girls through educational programming and events, is hosting the Connecticut Women's Summit.
The Connecticut Women's Summit will feature some of Connecticut's most influential women to discuss topics related to constructive ways in which women can mentor each other, build supportive communities and cooperation models, and help all women advance in our society. It is a festival of ideas for rapid evolution.
The Connecticut women's Summit will take place on Oct. 6 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the East Hartford Community Cultural Center on 50 Chapman Place, East Hartford.

Robeks launches smoothie bowls
Robeks has launched its new smoothie bowls. In keeping with the fresh and healthy ingredient guidelines critical to their success, these bowls will feature the same high quality juices and fruits and will be available in all current flavors with the first nutritional supplement free, just like with smoothies. To add extra taste and texture, a range of toppings including a nut mix, dried fruit mix, coconut and premium granola will also be available.
Chefs with Heart event slated
The New England Culinary Group is producing Chefs with Heart, an evening of cuisine, music with style and dancing.
Along with recreating the old time supper club motif, NECG has brought together a diverse group of talented chefs to prepare the menu for the evening, which will be an eclectic mix of styles and flavors, pulling from their impressive backgrounds.
Proceeds go to the American Heart Association.
Chefs with Heart will take place Wednesday, Nov. 2, at the newly revitalized Westport Inn.
The chefs for the evening include Chef Jodi Bernhard -- Barcelona Restaurant and Wine Bar; Chef David Donnelly -- Eramosa at The Westport Inn; Pastry Chef Robyn Eads -- Peace Tree Desserts; Chef Pedro Garzon -- Manolo; Chef Patrick Tennaro -- Old Post Tavern.
Each chef will be preparing one course, in addition to hors d'oeuvres that will be served throughout the cocktail hour.
