SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) _ Intermolecular Inc. (IMI) on Tuesday reported a fourth-quarter loss of $2.6 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.
On a per-share basis, the San Jose, California-based company said it had a loss of 5 cents. Losses, adjusted for stock option expense, were 4 cents per share.
The materials research company semiconductor and clean-energy industries posted revenue of $6.3 million in the period.
For the year, the company reported that its loss narrowed to $3.4 million, or 7 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $33.7 million.
For the current quarter ending in April, Intermolecular expects its results to range from a loss of 5 cents per share to a loss of 4 cents per share.
The company said it expects revenue in the range of $6.1 million to $6.5 million for the fiscal first quarter.
In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, the company's shares hit $1.18. A year ago, they were trading at $1.25.
