Ranking as Greenwich’s priciest single-family home sale this year, as tracked by the Greenwich Multiple Listing Service, a midcountry mansion sold for $22 million this week.
The English-styled manor, located on North Street, had been the home of international model Hana Soukupová and her husband Drew Aaron, who’s the chief executive at the Aaron Group and Lionsgate Capital. Soukupová has landed on the covers of numerous fashion and style magazines and walked in hundreds of fashion shows. The couple’s former 15,500 square-foot home laid out over nearly four acres of property appeared in Architectural Digest last year, featured for its updated design by Mark Cunningham.
The property, known as “North Court,” is a limestone and brick manor that includes a theater, wine cellar and tasting room, yoga and massage room with sauna, gym, pool, tennis courts and formal gardens.
“The exterior had to have presence for Drew, whereas the interiors had to be comfortable and intimate for Hana,” the designer told Architectural Digest.
Initially listed around a year ago for $20 million, according to Greenwich Realtor Mark Pruner of Berkshire Hathaway N.E. Properties, the home ultimately sold for $22 million and marks only the third home sale that closed for $20 million or more in the last three and a half years, he said, adding another Greenwich home is pending closure at a hefty price tag of $25 million.
Helene Barre of Sotheby's International Realty was the listing agent for the North Court property that sold this week, according to Barre’s professional website.
“This is a very significant sale for the high-end market,” Pruner said. “It validates Greenwich as continuing to be a good place for high net-worth individuals to live and invest. Even for Greenwich a sale of more than $20 million is extraordinary.”
Other notable home sales this year include a property on Oneida Drive that sold for $19.25 million, one on Guards Road for $13.5 million and another on Meadowcroft Lane for roughly $13 million.
On the market for nearly $26 million is the 75-acre estate of actor and filmmaker Mel Gibson.
