General Electric is already considering jobs cuts at its new Boston headquarters, according to a Reuters report.
CEO John Flannery, who replaced Jeff Immelt after the conglomerate left Fairfield for Boston in 2016, has reportedly told executives to prepare for cuts at the company’s headquarters and other areas that do not produce a profit. It was unclear how many jobs could be eliminated.
The company this year delayed construction of its new headquarters building until 2019, with earlier plans calling for 800 people to be based there.
