Spanish-style guitarist Gohar Vardanyan at Milford Arts Center
The New England Guitar Society International Guest Guitarist Series continues with Armenian-born guitarist Gohar Vardanyan on Saturday, March 10, at the Milford Center for the Arts
Considered a virtuoso Spanish-style guitarist, Vardanyan is scheduled to perform some of the most revered music from such Spanish composers as Sor, Granados, Albeniz, Rodrigo, de Falla and Barrios.
According to a news release, she began “her guitar studies with her father (at the age of 5), before moving to the United States and receiving her training at the prestigious guitar departments of the Peabody Conservatory and The Juilliard School.
“She has been on the cover of the Classical Guitar Magazine and performed throughout the Americas as a rising young star.”
The Milford Center for the Arts Guest Guitarist Series continues on Saturday, April 14, with Argentine guitarist Carlos Pavan and closes on Friday, May 11, with a fundraising concert featuring musicians from the Yale School of Music.
