CityCenter Danbury will be honored Friday with the Hat City Award for Preservation Excellence at the Hat City Ball.

This is the fourth year the Friends of The Danbury Museum & Historical Society have hosted the event. This year’s theme will be speakeasy. It will be at The Amber Room Colonnade, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

It is a key fundraiser for the museum and helps support the educational programs, events about history, community outreach and preservation.

“The gala celebrates the museum’s mission to acquire, preserve, and interpret the history of our city,” according to the press release.

CityCenter was selected as this year’s recipient for the work done to preserve downtown and its ongoing partnership with the museum, according to the release.

The evening features live music, dinner, an open beer and wine bar, dancing and prizes.

Tickets can be purchased online through the museum’s website. One ticket costs $140, two tickets cost $280, three tickets cost $420 and four tickets cost $560.
