Twelve musicians from Darien High School were chosen through a highly competitive statewide audition process and participated in the Connecticut Music Educators Association All-State Music Festival. The rehearsals and the concerts for the festival took place at Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford from April 30 to May 2 in conjunction with the CMEA conference. The Darien students worked in musical ensembles with Connecticut's most accomplished high school musicians and were conducted by nationally renowned conductors and educators.

"These students have consistently worked and studied their music over several years in order to been chosen as among the finest high school musicians in Connecticut," said Richard Sadlon, the Director of Music in Darien. "We are all extremely proud of their accomplishments and they are to be commended and recognized for doing such a fine job of representing Darien High School and our entire town at this prestigious statewide event."

The Darien All-State Music students are: Alison Lui, Monet Takeda, Chloe Zhou and Sara Baldwin in orchestra; Dominick Wood in jazz ensemble; Theresa Du in band; and Mitch Losito, Julia Evans, Drake Corrigan, Carson Stewart, Melanie Turner and Sofia Imbimbo in chorus.
