Darien News staff reporter Megan Spicer won three awards in the Connecticut Society of Professional Journalists' Excellence in Journalism Contest.

In the feature reporting category, Spicer won first place for the article "The era of the 20-something entrepreneurs," which can be read here, http://bit.ly/1t2GSNy

In the general reporting category, she won first place for "Seeking Sjolander's killer," http://bit.ly/1jKVxx8, and second place for "Darien runner close to the site of explosions," http://bit.ly/RitIje

The awards were presented Thursday, May 22, at a banquet in Wallingford.
