Darien PD prepares for on-site accreditation assessment
The Darien Police Department is scheduled for an on-site assessment with the State of Connecticut on Jan. 30. A team of assessors will evaluate whether the department has complied with 207 professional standards required to maintain accreditation with the State.
Darien is one of only 27 police agencies in Connecticut to hold accredited status. The department was first awarded accreditation by the State in March 2009. Accreditation is conferred for a three-year period, after which reassessment is required. This is the department's first attempt at reaccreditation.
As part of the process, agency employees and members of the community are invited to offer comments prior to the assessment. Comments may be submitted to the POST division by mailing Harold T.
