Darien police are searching for a suspect in reported home invasion at an Anthony Lane residence Thursday morning.

At approximately 11:30 a.m., Darien officers responded to the residence on the report of a burglary in progress. The female occupant told police she had arrived home to find a masked male in her residence. The suspect, who was in the living room at the time, began to walk toward her, police said.

Fearing for her safety, the victim fled the residence and ran to a neighbor's house to call 9-1-1, the report stated. While running from the residence, she fell and sustained an injury to her arm, and was later treated by Darien emergency medical services at the scene.

Officers responding to the area set up a perimeter and used a K-9 Unit but were unable to locate the suspect. The Stamford Police Department and the state police assisted with the search due to the close proximity to Interstate 95 and the Stamford city line, according to the report.

A full list of property stolen from the residence has not yet been undetermined.

The Darien Detective Division is exploring any connection the incident may have to other recent burglaries in the same area of Darien and in nearby Stamford.

Anyone with information concerning this or similar incidents is asked to call 203-662-5330.
