Darien forecast: Early gloom fades to sunshine
Part of today is expected to live up to the "April showers" reputation of this month, but clearing is on tap, according to the National Weather Service.
Skies across southwestern Connecticut will be cloudy through midday, with a 60 percent chance of showers before 1 p.m. The daytime temperature will reach a high in the upper-50s, with a northwest 8 to 13 mph.
Skies should clear by later this afternoon, however, and the overnight low temperature will be about 30 degrees, with a northwest wind 10 to 18 mph.
Tomorrow should be sunny, with a high temperature about 50 degrees. Nighttime will be mostly cloudy as the temperature drops to a low in the mid-30s.
On Sunday, the NWS says there is a slight chance of showers after noon. Otherwise, skies should be partly sunny, with a high temperature in the upper-50s. Nighttime should be cloudy, with a low temperature in the mid-40s.
Monday should be mostly sunny, with a high temperature near 60 degrees. Nighttime brings a 30 percent chance of showers, the NWS says, with a low temperature in the mid-40s.
There remains a slight chance of showers Tuesday, under cloudy skies and temperatures cresting about 60 degrees. Showers are also possible with a low temperature in the mid-40s.
The outlook for Wednesday, according to the weather service, is cloudy and temperatures in the 50s.
