Today will be another hot and sunny day, but the National Weather Service predicts it will just be a prelude to an even hotter Saturday.

The daytime high temperature today in southwestern Connecticut will rise to about 90 degrees, with a southwest wind 5 to 7 mph.

Tonight should be mostly clear, with a low temperature in the upper-60s and a south wind around 6 mph.

Tomorrow is likely to be a scorcher, the NWS says, with temperatures registering a high in the upper-90s -- and a heat index that will make it feel as though it's 100 or higher. There also is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3 p.m.

Tomorrow night should be cloudy with a continued chance of showers and thunderstorms. The overnight low temperature is expected to be in the mid-70s.

On Sunday things are expected to cool off with the high temperature reaching only the upper-80s. There also is a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1 p.m. The nighttime low temperature will be in the mid-60s.

The outlook for Monday, the weather service predicts, is mostly sunny and temperatures in the low-80s.
