Darien forecast: Warming today, raining tonight
Frigid overnight temperatures will slowly rise on this Martin Luther King Jr. Day, rising to a high point in the mid-30s, according to the National Weather Service.
Clouds will increase across southwestern Connecticut later in the day, with a south wind between 8 and 11 mph, gusting as high as 21 mph.
Rain is in the forecast for tonight, most likely after 10 p.m. The low temperature is expected to be about 30 degrees with a southwest wind between 11 and 13 mph, gusting as high as 23 mph.
More precipitation will fall tomorrow, as temperatures rise to a high in the mid-40s and a southwest wind between 9 and 11 mph. Overnight, there is a chance of more showers and the temperature is expected to fall to a low in the mid-30s, the NWS says.
Wednesday will be sunny, with a high near 40 degrees and a west wind between 17 and 22 mph. Nighttime will be mostly clear with a low around 21.
The outlook for Thursday is mostly sunny, with a high near 35 degrees, the weather service predicts.
