Several days of periodic rain, sleet and snow are forecast for southwestern Connecticut by the National Weather Service.

Today, rain is expected to start falling this afternoon, then changing to a mix of rain and snow after 4 p.m. The daytime high temperature will reach into the upper-30s, with an east wind between 5 and 14 mph. Little or no snow accumulation is expected, according to the NWS.

There will be more rain and sleet tonight, changing to all rain after 8 p.m. The low temperature will fall to the low-30s, with an east wind between 11 and 14 mph, the weather service says.

Tomorrow, rain is likely in the morning, primarily before 7 a.m. Skies will be cloudy, with a high temperature in the low-40s. There is a slight chance again overnight, as the temperature registers a low in the low-30s.

Friday will be partly sunny, with a high about 45 degrees. Rain is likely Friday night, and the temperature will fall to about 40 degrees.

On Saturday, showers are likely, the weather service predicts, will a high temperature in the mid-50s.
