GREENWICH — Considering a fire truck for your child’s birthday party? How about Giants, Rangers or Yankees tickets for a special occasion?

These and more exotic, luxurious and quirky items can be had for the right bid as part of the Greenwich Town Party’s new fundraiser, an online auction underway.

The auction includes more than 100 items and experiences, with values ranging from $25 to $50,000, that were donated by Greenwich residents and businesses to help pay for the privately funded Greenwich Town Party.

The Greenwich Town Party begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, rain or shine, at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park. The music begins at 11 a.m. when Greenwich’s Pamela Kuhn kicks things off on the main stage with the national anthem to begin an all-day musical festival featuring several local bands and headliners John Fogerty, the Tedeschi Trucks Band and Hall and Oates.

The sold-out event is for town residents, employers and people who work in Greenwich. Last year, it attracted more than 8,000 attendees.

“Every year, the Greenwich Town Party kicks off the summer by bringing people together to celebrate our amazing community,” Ray Rivers, co-president and director of development for the nonprofit Greenwich Town Party Inc., said.

“The event has grown into the most popular ticket in town. It’s a day for the whole family to enjoy and the community has really embraced the GTP mission by participating, donating and doing what they can to make this event a success,” he said. “As the community began to understand the mission, support for the event has grown every year. Now that we have the community behind us, we can look forward to having the Greenwich Town Party for many years to come.”

The party is paid for through the organization with the help of sponsorships and private donations. This year, an online auction will allow people to give their support and get something in return. Bidders do not have to have tickets or be town residents to participate.

Bidding opened up on Tuesday and will close at 6 p.m. May 29. The auction and a complete list of items can be found at http://501auctions.com/
