Metro-North RR to resume 'close' to full service Friday to NYC
After suspending service at the start of the week with the onset of Hurricane Sandy, Metro-North Railroad is poised to resume "close" to normal service on the New Haven Line on Friday morning.
Service on the main New Haven Line will be restored from New Haven west to Grand Central Terminal in New York City, according to the railroad. On Thursday, Metro-North had resumed service between Stamford and Grand Central for the first time in three days since the storm.
Fares will be waived at the direction of Gov. Dannel Malloy.
However, service on the New Canaan, Danbury and Waterbury branch lines will remain suspended Friday as storm cleanup continues.
