BRIDGEPORT — First responders flooded an area in downtown after a collision with injuries Thursday evening, police spokesman Av Harris said.

At 6:18 p.m., police and fire units were sent to the intersection of State Street and Park Avenue for a reported car that hit a pedestrian, Harris said.

Dispatch reports indicated two pedestrians were hit — one of which was a juvenile that was in “the middle of the street.” There was no immediate word on the seriousness of the injuries of those involved. Reports indicated two cars also crashed at the site, likely connected to the pedestrians struck.

The responsible vehicle, a white SUV, stayed at the scene, Harris said.

There was no further information provided.
