Police: Men attempted to sell drugs to Middlesex students
Two men are facing charges after police learned they tried to see drugs to school children on Monday, April 8.
Nery Lopez, 31, of 110 Deacon St., Bridgeport, and Bryan Lopez, 23, of 154th St., Bronx, N.Y., were arrested on charges of illegal distribution of marijuana, risk of injury to a minor and simple trespass. Bryan Lopez was also charged with possession of marijuana.
At about 3 p.m., police received a report of two suspicious males who attempted to sell marijuana at Middlesex Middle School.
When officers arrived, they located the two men walking south on Hollow Tree Road. An investigation determined that the two had entered Middlesex Middle School and spoke with someone at the school's main office claiming they were lost and without money.
The men left the school building and started asking people for money in the school's parking lot, police said.
While in the lot, police said the men attempted to sell marijuana to three students ages 11 to 13.
Officers located four grams of marijuana in the front pants pocket of Bryan Lopez.
Both were held in lieu of $5,000 bond, and appeared in court April 9.
