STRATFORD — A Stratford man faces gun and drug charges after police said they conducted a search warrant at a residence in town.

Eric Herman, 25, was charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a daycare facility, first-degree reckless endangerment, improper storage of a loaded firearm, illegal transfer of a firearm and criminal possession of a firearm.

On Thursday, the Stratford Narcotics Vice and Intelligence Unit executed a search warrant in the 300 block of Stony Brook Road, Capt. Frank Eannotti said in a news release. The search warrant stemmed from an investigation into narcotics sales in town.

During the investigation, detectives learned Herman was involved in the sale of heroin, crack cocaine and prescription pills, Eannotti said.

Police found what Eannotti said was a large amount of oxycodone, Oxycontin and crack cocaine at the residence. Detectives seized money and a loaded firearm, which Eannotti said was easily accessible to a minor child.

In a separate investigation, Eannotti said detectives recovered three stolen firearms.

Herman was held on a $20,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 20.
