DARIEN — Kids met creativity Saturday afternoon when the Darien Youth Commission hosted its annual Community Arts Festival at Town Hall.

“We’ve been doing this for many years,” said Alicia Sillars, youth director. “It’s hands-on art for the kids.”

A dozen local groups offered art activities in the gymnasium, including face painting, caricatures, and a range of crafts.

“We invited services agencies to come and provide hands-on art projects, at the same time kind of enlightening parents as to what their services are,” Sillars said.

“It’s a great community arts festival,” said Geoff Ball, commission chairman. “We draw a lot of kids that like to do arts and crafts.”
