Thousands of dollars worth of tires and rims were stolen after the owner noticed his vehicle sitting on blocks in his driveway.

The theft was reported March 4 at 8:15 a.m. after a resident on Greenleaf Avenue noticed his 2010 Toyota Sequoia was sitting on blocks in his driveway and all four tires and rims were missing, police said. The owner had returned with his wife the previous evening at 10:30 p.m. and left the vehicle parked and secured in the driveway of their home.

Neither of the residents heard any noise during the night, police said. The vehicle was not damaged and was propped up on some logs from a nearby woodpile adjacent to the driveway, police said. The lug nuts were scattered and left behind.

The four tires were valued at $1,500 and the rims were also valued at $1,500, police said.
