Annual Christmas boutique to benefit YWCA

The YWCA Darien/Norwalk is again the beneficiary of the 13th annual Christmas boutique at the Piedmont Club, 152 Hecker Drive, Darien. The boutique will be open on Thursday, Nov. 10, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 to 9 p.m., and Friday, Nov. 11, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Thursday evening shopping hours will feature a gift bag for the first 100 shoppers, wine tasting from WinePort of Darien, confections from Sister Sweets and other treats. This year's gift bags will include a fragrance gift from Jo Malone, baubles, books and other surprises. There will also be door prizes throughout the evening donated by the vendors.

A dozen new vendors are participating, including Elegant Pots & Petals with lifelike faux orchids and other flowers; Mrs. Monogram featuring personalized gifts and home accessories; Hopscotch, a children's gift shop; and Ilyse's Pieces with handcrafted jewelry.
Returning vendors include Asiatique with shawls, sweaters, jewelry, belts and more; En2Green with eco-knitted throws made with recycled or organic yarns, BabyBox.com featuring luxury baby gifts, clothes, bedding and more.
Suggested entry donation at the boutique is $5 for daytime shopping hours and $10 for the Thursday evening event.

A percentage of these donations and a percentage the sales will go to the YWCA of Darien/Norwalk to fund its ongoing community programs including YWCA Parent Awareness, a lecture series to educate local parents, and scholarships for the YWCA Job Search Support program that helps women learn job skills to gain employment.
