James Cintron, 31, of 90 Hollow Tree Ridge Road was arrested on June 12 on charges of third-degree assault, second-degree breach of peace and two counts of risk of injury to a minor.

At approximately 4:30 a.m., police received a call reporting that there was shouting coming from 90 Hollow Tree Ridge Road, according to the report. When the officers arrived, they learned that Cintron and his wife had gotten into a verbal argument and at one point, Cintron left the residence, said police.

Police said his wife went to look for him in her car and that Cintron had punched the vehicle's window and his wife. The couple then returned to their residence, said police.

An investigation revealed that Cintron's two children, ages 6 and 9, were sleeping in the basement and that he had left a loaded rifle in close proximity to them, said police.

Officers seized three rifles, a revolver and assorted ammunition for safekeeping as a result of his actions, police said.

He was held in lieu of $250,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court on June 13.
