The Fairchester Business Resource's meeting on Jan. 19 will feature Belinda Pruyne, founder and CEO of Life Vision Strategies, who will speak on "Uncover Your U.S.P. (Unique Selling Proposition) and Make Your Competition Irrelevant."

Pruyne has worked with clients that were so focused on their competition that they actually created initiatives better suited for their competitors, rather than their own business. She maintains that once your focus is corrected things will fall into place, and that this is true for you as an individual or a business. Rather than focusing on how to beat your competition, focus on what makes you unique, what sets you apart from the crowd.

"Where does your greatest passion lie with what you are doing?" she asks. Those answers are the reasons people will turn to you rather than your competition. Pruyne will share examples of how she has catapulted some of her clients into a category all their own.

The meeting takes place Thursday, Dec. 15, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. There will be a continental breakfast provided by the Fairchester Business Resource organizing committee. After the initial coffee, a breakfast and networking session will take place from 7:30 to 8 a.m. and the semi-formal meeting will start promptly at 8 a.m. Pruyne's presentation will run from about 8:25 a.m. until approximately 9:15 a.m. This month's meeting will take place at People's United Bank, 350 Bedford St., 2nd Floor, Stamford.
