DARIEN — Holiday cheer was not in the air for a Miles Road resident who had the Christmas lights in his front yard vandalized.

When the man went to bed on Dec. 27, the lights on the tree in his front yard were glowing. When he awoke the next morning, he found the lights were no longer working. Upon going outside, he found the wires of the lights had been cleanly cut with what appeared to be a sharp instrument.

The man reported the incident to police around 10:15 a.m. The man told police the lights were valued around $20 and he is unsure why anyone would try and vandalize his property. A search of the neighborhood revealed no additional information.
