On Feb. 11, the Cops & Kids Adventures Group conducted their second adventure at the Woodbury Ski Area in Woodbury.

The cost of the adventure, as well as the school bus transportation to and from the facility, was paid for through a funding grant provided by Connecticut's Office of Policy and Management. A total of six police officers and 11 kids participated in this event. The adventure joined officers and kids in a challenging and fun-filled day of snow tubing, which was a big hit with all involved.

The group is currently conducting its second community project where they have begun a collection drive of smoke detectors for senior citizens in Darien. In addition, the Fire Marshal's Office is available to assist any seniors needing help installing the detectors. If the community would like to help by donating a new smoke detector for this cause, donations can be brought to the Depot Youth Center at 25 Heights Road. The group hopes to begin distribution in early March. To put your name on the list for a smoke detector call the Depot Youth Center at 203-655-0812.
