Leonel Deandrade, 44, of East Main Street, Stamford was charged Monday with driving while intoxicated, not having a driver's license, failure to insure vehicle and speeding, according to police.

Deandrade was stopped after police said he was clocked driving 65 mph in a 30-mph zone on Hoyt Street.

The police officer asked Deandrade if he had anything to drink that evening, and he said no, but reportedly murmured something under his breath that indicated he drank earlier in the evening, police said.

Deandrade failed field sobriety tests, according to the report, and was charged.

He posted a $250 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 24.
