Competing against over 1,400 gymnasts from over 35 teams at the DGS Northeast Invite in Hartford. Darien Y topped the podium in the team competition at level 5 and level 6. Additionally, four gymnasts won individual all-around titles for their age group, including Anna Altier, Abigail O’Brien, Nadia Borja, and Saskia Chermayeff

In their first year of competition, the level 3 gymnasts earned second place in the team competition. Ten-year old Abigail O’Brien led the way with first place in the all-around (36.9), including a first place in bars (9.05) and floor (9.1). Among the nine year olds, Darien swept the top three all-around spots on the podium with Anna Altier taking first (37.15), Ava Licata at second (36.4) and Tanner Generoso coming in at third (35.8). Eight-year old Sophie Root finished fifth on beam (9.4), while Lindy Mueller stood out on bars (8.4)

Two gymnasts represented Darien at level 4. Ten-year old Sopia Iuteri placed sixth overall (34.15), with a fourth place on floor (8.7), while nine-year old Julia Decsi placed fifth overall (34.5), including third place on both beam (9.15) and floor (9.0).

The team dominated the competition at level 5. In the eleven-to-thirteen year old category, Darien gymnasts took two of the top three places. Saskia Chermayeff was first in the all-around (35.65), including first on bars (8.9) and first on floor (9.1). Teammate Lucy Collins placed third overall (33.675), with a first on beam (9.275). In the eight-to-ten year old category, Darien took seven of the top ten places. Nadia Borja, Caterina Pye, and Gabriela Pye led the way with a first place all-around (37.15), third place all-around (36.175), and fourth place all-around (35.05) respectively. Other standout performances included a third place on beam (8.5) by Abigail Nevin, a fourth place on floor (8.925) by Melina Cardini, a sixth place on floor (8.85) by Anna Moss and a sixth place on vault by Nima Rahbar.

Coming in first place at level 6, Darien Y gymnasts had a particularly strong showing in the twelve year old age group, placing in five of the top six spots. Holly McGoldrick led the way (35.025), following closely by Lindsay Hall (33.2), Dillan Aysseh (32.825). In the eleven-year old age group, Kate Wolters placed first on beam (9.4), while Sommer Schmidt placed ninth (8.6). Ten-year old Victoria Ware finished first on vault (9.0), while Paige Domenici finished second (8.975).

Lana Schmidt was the lone competitor at level 7 for Darien. She finished in fifth place overall, scoring 33.85, among thirteen-to-seventeen year olds.

At level 8, fourteen-year old Gianna Cardini placed first on vault (9.0) and sixth overall (33.7).

At level 9, fourteen-year old Kelsey Fedorko placed first on floor (9.325) and fourth overall (33.5).

Adnerys DeJesus competed against the meet’s highest-level gymnasts. At level 10, she placed third with a 35.9 among fourteen-to-eighteen year olds, and scored a meet high of 9.7 on beam.
