Darien improved to 6-1 with wins over Fairfield Warde (102-47) and St. Joseph (96-51) on Wednesday.

Nick Lombardo captured four event victories, helping the Blue Wave win the 4 x 400 (3:42.9) while taking the 100 (11.3), long jump (21-9) and 200 (23.1).

Spencer McMullin joined Lombardo on the 4 x 400 along with Judson Bergman and Will Ardery. McMullin, Carter Ashcraft, Patrick Reilly and Jackson Lovegrove to take the 4 x 100 in 46.0.

Armstrong Noonan won the 800 in 2:05.5 and helped the 4 x 800 team of James Farrington, Brian Davey and Andrew Xiong to a win in 8:38.4. Will Lochtefled set two personal bests in shot put (47-5) and discus (135-2) en route to winning both events.

On Friday and Saturday, Darien competed at the Irv Black Invite. On Friday, Noonan captured the JV 1,600 in 4:30.52 before returning on Saturday to place eighth in the 3,200 in 9:55.28. Both times were fast enough to qualify Noonan for the Freshman 1,600 and Freshman 3,200 at New Balance Outdoor Nationals in June.

Alex Ostberg finished second in the 3,200 with an eight second personal best of 9:28.43 while Marshall Huffman was fifth in 9:48.21. Colten Appleby was 18th in 10:09.13 and placed third in the 2,000 steeplechase on Friday in 6:38.92. Arthur Cassidy was 13th in the event in 7:07.05.

Lombardo was third in triple jump with a mark of 44-0. Davey placed 14th in the 1,600 in 4:31.77.
