Darien man charged with violating protective order
DARIEN — A 21-year-old Darien man was charged with violating a protective order against a resident of his home.
On April 5 around 2:30 p.m., the victim in question came to police headquarters to report that Joseph Pulvirenti, of McCrea Lane, had violated a protective order. On April 3, the victim and Pulvirenti got into an argument at their home. The disagreement then turned physical and Pulvirenti pushed the victim out of his way with open hands. The victim fell and hit their head on the hallway wall. The victim did not suffer any injuries and did not seek medical attention.
In the active protective order, Pulvirenti is prohibited from assaulting or harassing the victim. Based on witness statements and the protective order, police were granted an arrest warrant for Pulvirenti on charges of criminal violation of a protective order and disorderly conduct.
On April 6, officers saw Pulvirenti sitting in a parked car on West Avenue and placed him under arrest. He was charged, held on a $10,000 bond and arraigned on April 7.
