DARIEN — April is just around the corner and so is the police department’s “cell phone violation enforcement campaign.” Police in Darien and across the states are reminding residents using a cell phone while driving is illegal in Connecticut.

Police asked residents to remember that drivers 18 or older need hands-free accessories to use their phone while driving and new drivers cannot use any sort of cell phone or mobile electronic device. It is illegal for all drivers to hold a phone to talk while driving.
