Darien second grade flag football team hangs on for win
Cold hands and a muddy track made Saturday's game a tough one for both teams as Haims Buzzeo defeated Quality of Living 13-7 in Darien second grade flag football.
Haims Buzzeo got long runs from Will Tortorella and Cameron Weibel, as well as a beautiful scoring run by Beau Hancock. Haims Buzzeo also executed a screen pass from Jack Yurman to Ben Bryan, whose catch and run was the only other scoring play for Haims Buzzeo, as moving the ball in the chilly weather proved difficult.
For Quality of Living, Cole Murphy provided the lone offensive score on a touchdown run in the second half, which brought his team to within striking distance. Quality of Living's Sean Quick, Charlie Feingold and Andrew Kelley had a flurry of long runs.
On defense, Dawson Brown had his best game of the year and was the defensive standout for Haims Buzzeo. Other defensive standouts for Haims Buzzeo included Sam White, Luke Bradbury, Ben Bryan, Matthew Lia and CJ Lia, who played their usual tough defense.
