Darien sixth grade football defeats Westport for first win of season

The Darien sixth grade Wave captured their first win of the season with a 19-12 win over Westport South.
The upfront blocking by Dylan Fram, Teddy Brannigan, Teddy Ruppenstein, Sean O'Malley, Peter Gutusso, Elliot Doll and Patrick Burke paved the way for Max Grant's 45-yard touchdown run, Mitchell Pryor's 1-yard touchdown score and several nifty fourth down runs by Justin Jordan.
The defensive effort was highlighted by Dylan Buckner's interception and 20-yard return and Teddy Brannigan's interception, which he returned 20 yards for a touchdown after the pass was deflected by Patrick Burke. There was also a jarring tackle by linebacker Jackson McNear, who forced a fumble which was recovered by Darien. The Darien defensive backs were led by Carr Noonan , Cameron Raia and Dylan Buckner.
