Downtown Darien traffic signals to be temporarily shut off
DARIEN — Traffic signals in Darien will be shut off temporarily Thursday so electrical work can be completed.
Darien police said on Feb. 8 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., electrical contractors from the state Department of Transportation will be working on traffic controllers on Route 1 at Center Street, Tokeneke Road and West Avenue. The traffic signals will be shut down for a significant portion of this time, police said.
Police also said officers will be at the scene to direct traffic, but ask that drivers plan trips accordingly and consider alternative routes.
