Timothy Sargent, 22, of 59 Brookside Drive was arrested on Sunday, March 10, on charges of driving while intoxicated and failure to drive right.

The charges stem from a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Sunday, Feb. 3, at approximately 2 a.m. when a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, operated by Sargent, was traveling westbound on Old Kings Highway South in the area of Glen Gorham Lane, when it crossed over the roadway centerline and struck a bridge abatment, police said. The vehicle came to rest partially submerged on the eastern bank of the Stony Brook River.
