Entrepreneurs use their business savvy for good
Two social entrepreneurs who use their business acumen and energy to help others will be at the Darien Community Association (DCA) on Wednesday, Oct. 8, at 7:30 p.m.
Anne Wells is the founder of Unite The World With Africa, a social organization that advances health, education and micro finance programs in Tanzania; the Ashe Collection, a retail outlet that builds a marketplace in America for African artisans; and the Unite For Africa youth group (here in Darien) that empowers local youth to become international change agents.
Jessica Hendricks is the founder of The Brave Collection, a line of jewelry designed and handmade by Cambodian artisans. Hendricks' business supports fair-trade artisans and fights human trafficking through a curated collection of authentic pieces.
This event is $10 per person, or free for DCA members. Reservations are requested, and can be made at dariendca.org, or by contacting the DCA at firstname.lastname@example.org or 203-655-9050. The DCA is located at 274 Middlesex Road.
