Family & Children's Agency in Norwalk recently added two members to its board of directors.

Jill Dimitrief is a former recruiting professional who now works with Facing History and Ourselves, a not-for-profit organization that develops programs to support educators at all levels in teaching tolerance. She also volunteers at the Facing History School, a public high school in New York City that partners with Facing History and Ourselves.

She and her husband, Alex, live in Westport and have three children. Dimitrief said she is excited about working with Family & Children's Agency because, as she said, "I have always believed in working on the local level, because that is how I can have a direct impact on the community. (The agency) is improving lives on a daily basis, and I'm honored to be a part of that."

Richard Zaremski is senior vice president, business banking division at First County Bank. Before joining First County, he worked with Merrill Lynch, First Union, First Fidelity and Union Trust, and he holds several certifications from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. He also has served on the board of the Vitam Center. A longtime resident of Norwalk, he graduated from Fairfield University and is the father of three grown sons. He said he's looking forward to serving on the Finance Committee of the Board.

Family & Children's Agency is a nonprofit family service organization serving the needs of more than 10,000 individuals -- including children, adults and families -- throughout Fairfield County and beyond.

Skilled professionals serve clients in seven impact areas: youth development, family strengthening, foster care, adoption, behavioral health, homeless services, and services for seniors.
