DARIEN — A 25-year-old Bronx, N.Y., woman was arrested March 2 after she allegedly tried to cash a fraudulent check at TD Bank, 55 Post Road.

Kashai Princess George was charged with first-degree forgery, third-degree identity theft, and criminal impersonation.

The bank called police to report the attempted fraud after George tried to use a New York driver’s license with the name Sarojni Basil to cash a fake cashier’s check for $4,532. The teller recognized the name Sarojni Basil because they had received a internal memo warning about George, who had previously gone to branches in Stamford and Greenwich. The teller alerted a co-worker and they stalled George until police arrived.

She was held on a $10,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in state Superior Court in Stamford March 5.
