In girls fifth/sixth grade house hoops, the Fever fought off the Sun 24-20 in a hard-scrabbled game to finish the regular season with a record of 7-3.

The loss was a first for the Sun, who finish the regular season with a 9-1 record, and hold the No. 1 seed for the upcoming playoffs.

The Fever jumped out early with a furious run to go up 12-2. The Sun fought back with an aggressive defensive attack, and cut the lead 22 - 20 late in the fourth quarter.

Lexi Vairo of the Fever then hit a contested, running layup with 1:30 remaining in the fourth quarter for the final margin.

It was a total team effort, with Caroline White leading the Fever with eight points, while Lyndsey Pride fought off the after-effects of a bout with the flu to finish with six. Chi-An Daugavietis, Ali Meyer, and Jillian Slonieski each chipped in a bucket, while Melany Flores, and all the girls, contributed with some solid team D.
