DARIEN — A golf cart at Wee Burn Country Club was totaled after someone left it in a pond on the golf course.

On July 26, four golfers used the cart and left it parked near the thirteenth hole in the afternoon. When they returned to the hole, the cart was missing. The golfers notified the club who said this was normal, as many members grab carts left on the course. The cart, however, was still missing at the end of the day.

On July 27 around 8:50 a.m., staff members went looking for the unreturned cart. They found it partially submerged in a water hazard on the thirteenth hole. It was totaled, resulting in a loss of $6,000 for the club.

Police searched the area, but found nothing.
