The House of Needlepoint announces its expansion next door from its current location at 839 Post Road., Darien. The store is a Darien retailer of hand-painted needlepoint canvases and stitching supplies. It has been in business for more than 20 years.

Owners,Beth Crump and Kim Kernan have owned House of Needlepoint for almost 5 years and are happy to be moving to a larger space n the same block as Post Corner Pizza and Starbucks.

"It's the best of both worlds. We can stay in our desirable location but have additional space to display more merchandise," Kernan said. "We know our existing customers will love the larger shop with more space to display canvases and the ability to carry new fibers. Hopefully, we will attract new customers with our updated shop and new web site which will be launched soon."

"With so many of our surrounding towns renting to large retailers such as Polo, J. Crew, Pottery Barn, Brooks Brothers and The Gap, we are elated to continue with our small business which has served Darien and surrounding towns for over 20 years," Crump said. "We have customers who come from New York City, Rye, Chapaqqua, even Long Island to shop with us. During the winter months we ship merchandise to `snow and ski bird' customers."
