In a fast-paced Darien sixth grade boys basketball game, the Hurricanes toppled the Wolfpack 27-16 on Saturday.

Harry Rayhill led the Hurricanes offense with eight points and several rebounds. Rebounding turned out to be one of the keys to victory, as Rayhill was helped on the boards by Justin Canelli and Cole Stevenson who both crashed the glass from start to finish.

Sean Collins also played very well for the Hurricanes by scoring five points and directing the offense against tough defensive pressure from the Wolfpack guards. Another star of the game for the Hurricanes was Alex Dehmel, who scored six points at key points in the game. Alex Murray chipped in with four points.

Matt Hedges and Shane Ford were the defensive leaders in holding the Wolfpack to 16 points. The Wolfpack narrowed the lead to five in the fourth quarter, but baskets by Dehmel and Rayhill sealed the win.

The Wolfpack displayed a well balanced attack in defeat with Will Pegler, Daniel Koenitzer, Matt Dimeglio and Connor Tienken leading the offense and spearheading the team defense.
