A Fairmead Road resident reported June 15 that several pieces of her jewelry were stolen in mid-April.

The woman told police that she believes a painter who was working in her home from April 18 to 26 had taken the jewelry, the report stated. Almost all of the jewelry was locked in a safe in the basement, except some were in a silver cup in her bathroom, according to police.

She noticed the jewelry missing in May, police said.

Taken were a Tiffany & Co. eternity band, a pair of $2,000 18-karat yellow gold Tiffany & Co. earrings, a pair of $90 gold earrings, a pair $200 gold braided hoop earrings and a 18-karat yellow gold chain link necklace, according to the report. The value of the Tiffany & Co. band and necklace are unknown, police said.

The incident is under investigation.
