Stamford Board of Finance Vice President Bob Kolenberg took the majority of votes in Darien during Tuesday's Senate District 27 special election.

Kolenberg, a Republican from Stamford, received 480 votes, while his challenger, State Rep. Carlo Leone, (D-148) earned 223. Green Party candidate Rolf Maurer received one vote.

According to the Registrar of Voters, 704 residents, or 17 percent of that district, which includes Noroton and Tokeneke, voted in the election.

The majority of the district in is Stamford.
