Letter: BOE needs someone like McNamara
Published 10:09 am, Monday, October 14, 2013
I am writing in support of Christa McNamara's candidacy for the Board of Education. I met Christa when our daughters began preschool at the First Congregational Church. Christa is intelligent, articulate and hard-working. She is easy to talk with, approachable, and open minded -- qualities that will serve Christa well on the BOE.
Christa has always been passionate about the educational system in Darien. We have had many conversations about Darien's schools, testing and have worked collaboratively on science and math enrichment programs.
Christa is well qualified for the position, having a master's degree in elementary education, six years of experience on the RTM Education Committee, and being extremely active in Royle School's PTO. Darien is lucky to have someone as qualified as Christa, who is invested in the school district with school-aged children, committed to quality education, and willing and able to devote the time necessary to this position.
